Anne Hubbard
|
The goal of Anne’s agility training is for the dog-handler team to have fun and to learn to work as a team in a safe and positive environment. Her classes incorporate positive reinforcement methods and concepts of canine behavior. Dog agility is a fun, active sport that all dogs and handlers can enjoy. Many of Anne’s students are active agility competitors, while others use her agility classes as an opportunity to have fun with their canine partners in an agility setting. She started teaching agility at Tails-U-Win in 1995 and also teaches agility and obedience classes in Rhode Island, where she lives. When Anne isn’t teaching agility, she is a college instructor and administrator at the University of Rhode Island. Anne’s first dog was an Alaskan Malamute she got for a pet. A few obedience classes later, she was hooked on dog sports! Taku earned his CD in three straight trials. For her next dog, Anne changed breeds and acquired the first of her Belgian Tervuren, Picket (CH Beauxchiens Top Pick CD NA) who introduced her to the world of conformation and agility. Picket’s son, CH Beauxchiens Apple of My Eye CD OA OAJ introduced Anne to the world of dog training – as a puppy class and an agility instructor. She has been teaching for over 13 years and looks forward to continuing for many more. Anne’s current dogs have all competed in agility and earned top titles in multiple organizations. In addition, Ellie and Tuppence have earned ASCA started herding titles.
