Scent Work Classes
Scent Work Classes are exhilarating for both dog and handler and are based on authentic scent detection training. Scent Work can help develop confidence even in the most timid dog. The mental exercise of searching and problem-solving is great for calming and focusing the energetic or highly aroused dog, or dog reactive dog. Another huge benefit of Scent Work is the positive working relationship that develops between you and your dog when you both are out "hunting" together as a team. For those handlers that love to compete, Scent Work Classes will prepare you for the official Scent Work Trials.

Dogs have an amazing sense of smell and a natural desire to hunt. This class focuses on teaching you how to encourage and develop your dog’s natural scenting abilities by using their desire to hunt and their love of toys, food and exercise. In this class the instructor will help you to read your dog’s body language, name the various parts of that language, and have the timing to reward on target. It’s a great class for your dog to have fun, build confidence and burn lots of mental and physical energy. Find out just how good your dog’s nose really is!

All dogs (except those with aggression towards people) are welcome. Prerequisite is Family Dog I.

Scent Work Drop-In Options
Drop-In is at Intermediate and Advanced Levels. Call or email to see if spots are available.
Drop-Ins are $35 plus tax and to be paid at the front office prior to class starting.
